The Department of Forestry in collaboration with Modern Cooking for Healthy Forests (MCHF), a project co-funded by USAID and UKaid have organized a Forest Degradation, Restoration, and Deforestation Monitoring workshop currently underway in Lilongwe to, among other things, capacitate foresters from both public and private sectors on biomass energy chains and the proposed degradation methodology, basics of cartography with Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS), and National Monitoring Unit (NMU) database management system
