Journalists drawn from various Media Houses are today May 16, 2023, participating in Earth Observation and Forest Monitoring workshop to, among other things, equip them with an interest in geo-journalism skills to deliver spatial products and thematic information in a condensed, easily understandable format addressing the appropriate level for broad societal uptake.

Speaking at the event, an Ecosystem Services Specialist Rajesh Bista and GIS Specialist Meyru Bhanti, said the training will help Journalists pin down the often interconnected reasons that drive environmental change.  Some of the notable journalists present include Chancy  Mloza-Banda from Zodiak and Charles Mkoka from Association of Environmental Journalists in Malawi.

The workshop currently underway in Lilongwe has been organised by the Department of Forestry in partnership with the Modern Cooking for Healthy Forests (MCHF), a project co-funded by USAID  and UKaid.
