2022/23 National Forestry Season
Posted on 15-Dec-2022
The Department of Forestry wishes to inform the general public that the 2022/23 National Forestry Season (NFS) which traditionally runs from 15th December to 15th April the following year, will be commemorated under the theme: “Restore Degraded Forest Landscapes for Livelihood Security” (Tibwezeretse Mitengo ndi Nkhalango madera mwathu kuti tipeze zosowa za moyo wathu).
Primarily the theme recognizes the importance of forests to social-economic development of the country. The theme also resonates well with the Government’s commitment to restoring 4.5 million Hectares of the Degraded landscapes by 2030 (BONN CHALLENGE).
Partners and all relevant stakeholders are therefore encouraged to refer to the released theme throughout the implementation phase of the 2022/23 NFS.
