How we handle your information
This website is run by the Department of Forestry, Ministry of Natural Resources, Nkhalango House, P.O. Box 30048, Lilongwe 3.
What we collect
Messages you send us. When you use the contact form we keep your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the topic and your message.
Consultation comments. When you comment on a draft policy or strategy we keep your name, email address, organisation if you give one, your comment and any file you attach.
Technical information. Like any website, our server records the address of each visit and the pages requested, so it can work and be kept secure.
Why we collect it
We use your information only to answer you, to act on what you report, and to take account of your views when a policy or strategy is finalised. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Messages and comments are read by Department of Forestry staff who need them to do their work. A report of illegal activity may be passed to the officers or enforcement agencies responsible for following it up.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as keeping forms secure. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us.
