CLAP for Resilience
Championing Local Adaptation for Productive Ecosystems and Enhanced Resilience in the Bua Basin
Community-led, gender-responsive climate adaptation and nature-based solutions in the Bua river basin.
CLAP for Resilience runs in the Bua river basin districts of Mchinji, Kasungu and Nkhotakota from March 2026 to March 2032. Its four components cover community institutions for climate adaptation; climate-resilient, nature-based solutions for farming and ecosystems; private-sector value chains; and participatory planning and knowledge management.
The Department of Forestry implements the first two: strengthening community-level institutions so that adaptation is participatory and gender-responsive, and supporting farmers to adopt sustainable landscape management.
Progress
District plans of work have been developed for implementation from the last quarter of 2026.
